This project aims to promote internet safety. Statistics show that fear of harmful content can lead to aggression and extremism. So-called "echo chambers" on the internet further amplify these effects. ProtectScan seeks to counteract this by detecting harmful content online and warning users.Don't worry: users retain full control over their browser and the choice of sites they visit. In contrast to traditional censorship, it's explicitly not about bans but about protection and education, combined with the option to "accept the risk". Additionally, data processing is client-side, meaning it only occurs on your PC and does not in any way return to ProtectScan.
ProtectScan is an open-source project developed on a voluntary basis. It is licensed under the MIT License, and the source code is available on GitHub.
